The West Side Christian Parish was an interdenominational, multi-service organization serving neighborhoods with low-income residents on Chicago's West Side. WSCP was founded in 1952 by Donald Benedict and J. Reverend J. Archie Hargraves was pastor of the South Shore Community Church at 7402 South Yates Boulevard (ca. 1971-2002). Hargraves co-founded the East Harlem Protestant Parish in New York, founded the West Side Christian Parish and the West Side Organization in Chicago (Ill.), and was active in the Chicago Freedom Movement.
